About Us

Professional, friendly advice and quality workmanship from a knowledgeable team.

More than a building contractor, Stubbs Homes is a design and build specialist for home extensions. As our business has grown and developed, we’ve focused our services on areas where we know we excel and can add real value to our clients’ homes. We understand the stresses and strains of organising building work and so work in collaboration with you to make it as easy as possible to achieve your dream home.

Based in Warsash and working on home renovation projects in Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham and all surrounding areas, we are proud to be members of the Federation of Master Builders. This accreditation demonstrates to our clients that we are a reputable local building contractor.

We’re focused on effective project management, quality workmanship and materials, and understanding what YOU want. So, whether you’re looking for a kitchen extension, want to add more living space or a bedroom, or are looking to reconfigure and modernise your home with an open-plan design, Stubbs Homes can help.

Managing your build

Working with you from the very early stages of your planning, we’ll help you to navigate all of the specification and decision-making required to get the ball rolling on your build. The support starts from our very first meeting where we discuss ideas and make recommendations for your project. Once we’re on board, we’ll have regular reviews with updated timelines to keep you fully informed of progress. We’ll project manage all our contractors, and trusted third-party suppliers, to create a smooth and efficient programme of works, including any building regulations approvals.

Our Team

Stubbs Homes is a family run business based in Warsash, Hampshire, with a small dedicated team of building professionals and a trusted group of sub-contracted tradespeople who work with us on an ongoing basis. Meet the people behind Stubbs Homes:

Tom Stubbs

With almost thirty years of building contracting under his belt, there’s not much that Tom hasn’t experienced! He set up Stubbs Builders as he wanted to make a positive impact on the industry that has been marred by poor customer service and inferior workmanship. You’ll work with Tom from the very outset of your project and throughout. He’ll be your sounding board for ideas and will project manage your build, ensuring the highest standards of quality at every stage.

Tabitha Stubbs

Tabitha knows just how important it is to have effective communication, coordinating all of the many tasks, people, and suppliers involved in your project to ensure everything runs smoothly. After working for many years in the construction industry, she joined the family business as co-owner and is responsible for client and supplier relationships, project planning and organisation. She’ll be keeping you informed and ensures every detail is covered!

We’re a proud supporter of Mates In Mind, a leading UK charity raising awareness and addressing the stigma of poor mental health. With their guidance, we’re able to focus on the development of positive mental wellbeing within the workplace and support our staff and contractors.

Requesting a quote for your building work

We understand that organising building work can be stressful so have a clear process in place so that you can fully evaluate our services and get all the information you need to make an informed decision and plan your building project.

STEP 1: Arrange a discovery call at a time that’s convenient for you so that we can discuss your project ideas, timescales and budget.

STEP 2: We arrange a site visit to view your property and have a face-to-face meeting with you. At this stage, we can discuss the specifics of your project and offer our advice on areas such as drainage, building materials and specialist skills such as architect drawings that may be required. This enables both parties to check they are the right fit for one another as we recognise this will be a long-term relationship and often the largest home renovation project you will undertake.

STEP 3: We produce an estimate for the work with headline figures and timescales for different stages of your build. This will help you to plan your budget and timeline.

STEP 4: Once we have discussed your estimate and you have agreed to work with us, we’ll send out a contract and other paperwork to you. This is an agreement for us to carry out the work discussed. We will also request a deposit from you to secure our availability within a mutually agreeable timeframe.

STEP 5: After we have received your signed contract and deposit, we will liaise with you on the finer details of your bespoke project. This will include any structural or engineer surveys required, plans and drawings, plus a more detailed breakdown of the costs associated with your requirements.

STEP 6: As we approach the timeframe we’ve mutually agreed for the work, we’ll communicate regularly with you and provide guidance on the ‘who, what, when and how’ so that you’re kept up to speed on all that’s required to progress your extension. Then, when we start work, our specialist project management software will keep you in the loop and help us to organise all of the details related to your work.
